No. The typical Homebuyers report offered by the average surveyor is based on a cut down inspection that doesn’t check all of the windows open, doesn’t ensure that all the taps work, and won’t even inspect to check that the toilets flush through the drains. Skyline surveyors work to a higher standard, the highest in the industry, carrying out a full and thorough visual inspection.
It depends on the property. If it’s old and neglected then a Building Survey. If it’s a bit more modern and not in bad condition then a Home Buyers Survey or Home Condition Survey will work. If it’s a new build the New Home snagging survey is what you need. If you’re landlord then it’s a Buy-To-Let Survey, and if you are buying for investment purposes then it’s our Investor survey. But don’t worry, we’ll help advise you to make sure you get what you need.
Initially a survey might look like an expensive luxury. But, on average, we find that buyers can usually negotiate a price reduction of between 5 and 10 times the cost of the survey when they have a really professional report to use as a negotiating tool. So, in many cases, the survey pays for itself.
As with any product or service, as consumers we are faced with a choice of price and quality. But when it comes to your home, perhaps the most expensive purchase you have ever made, it’s important to make sure you are working with the right professionals. We believe that by providing a comprehensive and professional service, delivering the highest quality survey product on the market, you will be delighted with the product and the advice you receive, just like the thousands of satisfied clients we have been privileged to serve in the past.
