Skyline at the Sava Residential Expo 2025

At Skyline we’ve really pushed the boat out for this year’s Sava Residential Expo.

The event takes place on Tuesday 7th October 2025 at the Coventry Building Society Arena. It’s free to attend and if you’ve not got your ticket yet then head to THIS link.

For us the Expo is a great opportunity to showcase all the new products and features that we’ve been working on recently. And this year we’ve gone overboard!

Our focus as survey writing software providers remains on supporting surveyors in their day-to-day work, improving efficiency, and helping the profession adapt to changes in regulation, technology, and client expectations

At Skyline we don’t stand still. We’re continually innovating and “thinking outside the box” to deliver industry-leading developments designed to help you work smarter.

So, what’s the highlights for 2025?

Skyline FLOW

What is it?

FLOW is our new “survey lifecycle” tool. It flows together all the key landmarks of a survey from initial quote through to report delivery.

But it’s not just a tracker (though it does that), and it’s not just a tool to keep your records all together (though it does that too, which is great for compliance).

And it’s not just a messaging service (yup, it does that as well), nor is it just a progress dashboard (which, of course, it also is)……so what is it?

FLOW is a completely different way of managing your survey instructions. Through a purpose-built Customer Portal Area it allows you to communicate in real time, just like you would on WhatsApp, but all within the Skyline environment.

That means that you can instantly deliver invoices, T&C’s, completed reports, and get immediate responses, payments and authorisations from your client. And every interaction , and every document, is recorded and delivered in a case-pack for total accountability.

Combined with the integrated desktop dashboard, whether you’re a single or multi-surveyor practice you’ll be on top of every instruction, every minute, now and into the future.

Home Insight Survey

What is it?

Home Insight Survey is the first survey product created to meet the combined needs of sellers, buyers, estate agents and conveyancers. It’s a “sellers survey.”

Intended to be commissioned by a property seller, at the point of first marketing, Home Insight Survey can be relied upon by the seller, prospective buyers, a successful buyer, estate agents and conveyancers.

Why is this so important, and why now? Government and industry are striving to make the home moving process quicker, more reliable and less stressful. And delivering more information earlier in the process is seen as playing a fundamental role in achieving those ambitions.

The overwhelming majority (89%*) of buyers say they would welcome property condition information at an early stage, and the benefits that an upfront survey bring are hugely significant. Amongst these are a reduction in fall-throughs (currently running at a third of all transactions), avoidance of late renegotiation, and a massive reduction in the stress caused by the uncertainty of the current process.

Home Insight Survey is truly groundbreaking as it doesn’t just include information about the condition of the property, but also covers health & safety matters, conveyancing concerns, environmental information, Material Information (which agents have to ensure is provided to buyers) and advice about relevant climate change risks, something that conveyancers are duty-bound to ensure their clients have been informed about.

Seller-commissioned surveys are not part of the home moving landscape at the moment, but the direction of travel indicates that they almost certainly will start to gather momentum in the coming months and years. And Skyline are there first and are leading the way!

Free Student Software

For surveying students we’ve got something really special

Firstly, all bone-fide students (not just Sava, but those from degree and other courses too) get completely free access to Skyline. But it’s not just a way to write survey reports. We include use of our standards texts (currently used by many fee-earning surveyors on a daily basis), and all the knowledge and expertise that we bring to the survey creation process.

We’ve even got bespoke reporting formats for students who are restricted on the style of reports they must submit for assessments.

Students often struggle with gaining the experience of how to construct client-pleasing reports. With Skyline we guide you through the report writing process so you can hit the ground running on day-1 of your surveying career.

These are just some of the highlights of this year’s offering at the Sava Expo, so make sure you com and take a look at the industry’s leading survey writing software provider.

New product launch - Home Insight Survey

The Home Insight Survey is a completely new type of report, with the objective of transforming the way we sell and buy homes.

Unlike traditional surveys, the target customer for a Home Insight Survey is a property seller, before they put their property on the market. And, importantly, the report can be relied upon, not just by the seller, but also by the buyer.

Home Insight Survey has been created to provide important information for sellers, buyers, estate agents and conveyancers, and it contains not just condition information, but environmental, health and safety, and climate change advice too.

But why do we need a sellers survey?
Statistics show us that 80-90% of home buyers get no independent condition information before making the biggest financial committment of their lives.
And in England and Wales, in 30% of cases the property purchase will fall through before completion, at a cost of £1billion a year to consumers and professionals.
Compare that to Scotland, where pre-marketing surveys are statutory, and where only 10% of purchases fall through.

Home Insight Survey - The stress-buster

The uncertainty of the home moving process in England & Wales makes it one of the most stressful experiences of our lives. But with a Home Insight Survey commissioned before the property is marketed:-

  • Buyers can make properly informed decisions with an increased certainty of achieving a successful conclusion.
  • Sellers can be confident that there is far less risk of a late (downwards) renegotiation of the sale price due to unforseen discoveries by the buyers' surveyor.
  • Sellers are likely to achieve a higher selling price, more that compensating for the upfront cost of the survey.
  • Sellers can have more confidence that their on-going purchase budget will remain stable.

The Home Insight Survey has been carefully created to ensure that it meets the needs of as many parties as possible during the home moving process. It delivers important and valuabkle information for sellers, buyers, estate agents and conveyancers, delivering the openness and transparency that helps transactions achieve a successful conclusion more quickly and reliably.
